Automotive Testing Services


Responsible for managing the testing related aspects of a proving grounds. This includes but is not limited to; Scheduling, Invoicing, Equipment, and Support Personnel for test programs (drivers / techs / mechanics).



  • Oversee day-to-day staff and testing at the proving grounds.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and calibration activities including activities of both vendors and direct employees.
    • Ensure that all test equipment, vehicles, and targets within customer’s responsibility are properly maintained with up to date calibration records.
    • Ensure that all consumables are properly tracked, and hazardous materials are properly logged per customer requirements.
    • Ensure employees are trained on operation of equipment.
  • Oversee scheduling, send weekly scheduling updates, and work directly with clients to create solutions to scheduling challenges.
  • Manage track access control and ensure clients are monitored while testing on track features.
  • Manage Intelligent Transportation System including but not limited to DSRC technology, stop lights, video system, gating, etc. Work with vendors to make system enhancements, and technical staff to automate and integrate systems.
  • Oversee invoicing, manage monthly invoicing to clients, provide feedback to clients when requested to justify invoicing, and work with sales and partners (ACM) to ensure clients are properly setup to be invoiced. 
  • Recruit, hire, train, and oversee staff that support test programs. Staff include, but not limited to; Engineers, Technicians, Drivers, and Mechanics.
  • Manage the revenue and profit for the testing related aspects of the proving grounds and ensure all test revenue and profit targets are achieved. Test revenue and profit includes track rental, short term garage rental, equipment rental, and support from engineers, techs and drivers.
  • Develop testing policies and procedures. Conduct evaluations of needs assessments and develop non-standard test requirements. Work with Chief Engineering to develop and approve non-standard testing work instructions.
  • Formulate test plans and conduct tests to evaluate operational characteristics, suitability, maintainability, and reliability of autonomous vehicle systems.
  • Develop and implement standard test reports and operational assessments.
  • Work closely with proving grounds staff to ensure seamless execution of employee training.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategy for the testing services at the proving grounds. 
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies and quotation and proposal approval processes.  
  • Review and analyze sales metrics, identify trends, track sales performance and forecast revenue.
  • Monitor competition and ensure successful market positioning.
  • Perform other duties as required.


  • 3+ years’ experience with full vehicle testing, proving grounds operations, or other directly related area. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or other directly related area preferred.
  • Experience with electrical or mechanical engineering fundamentals, schematics and data collection.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Requires knowledge of engineering project objectives, execution and analysis.
  • Requires knowledge of coordinating and working with vendors on instrumentation setup, data collection and configuration.
  • Familiarity with engineering report documents.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and test procedures.
  • Must be able to effectively resolve conflict.
  • Must possess an entrepreneurial mind set.
  • Must have excellent leadership and team building skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage with cross functional teams to achieve common goals/objectives.
  • Ability to effective engage and motivate staff

  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
