Oregon Man Busted With a Car Full of Weed, Literally

English language purists will often complain of how today’s youth is misusing words like “literally.” Here’s one instance where it’s used correctly: Oregon police caught a guy with his car literally full of weed.

It happened at the weekend and was made public on the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, in the regular weekend update. Apparently, the arrest was a pure coincidence, so imagine the deputy’s surprise when he must’ve opened the door of the car and seen all that marijuana neatly packed inside.

The photo attached to this article is the one made public by the police and, dare we say it, the suspect, identified as Andrew William Long, 39, seems mighty pleased with himself. He probably wiped that smile off his face when he was arraigned, because he’s facing felony charges because of the large quantity of drugs he was carrying.

“On Saturday afternoon, a deputy stopped a car in Central Point. The car turned out to be full of marijuana – literally. The deputy found a total of 42 POUNDS of dried marijuana inside the cab and in the trunk,” the police say on social media.

“The driver, Andrew William Long, 39, was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana (felony). For reference, the limit for personal possession of recreational marijuana is eight OUNCES – or one ounce in a public place. Long was also cited for driving uninsured and with a suspended license,” the announcement further adds.

Even if Long has a clean criminal record, he could still be facing considerable time behind bars if found guilty on these charges alone. Also last weekend, police caught a couple of car thieves, who also got busted for gun and drug possession, and a robber who had been on the run since early last month. Neither of these arrests hold a candle to the dude driving around with a car packed with marijuana.
